Beyond the classroom: Youth resource fair to spotlight enrichment programs
Whether your child is a science whiz, a budding artist, a music enthusiast, or in need or a tutor or mentor, they might find local programs that interest them at an upcoming youth resource fair in Drexel Hill.
Slated for March 25 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Monsignor Bonner & Archbishop Prendergast High School cafeteria, the event is open to all youth in kindergarten through 12 grades.
State Rep. Gina Curry, a Democrat representing Delaware County, is hosting the resource fair. The event to help area families learn more about after-school programs, tutoring/academic support, sports and recreation, arts and creative programs, STEM/technology programs, summer programs, college/career preparation opportunities, mentorship programs and mental health/counseling resources.
Parents who are interested in attending with their children are encouraged to register in advance by providing basic contact information and sharing what types of programs or services their children are interested in.
“This is a great chance to check out many youth programs at all once,” Curry said in her newsletter. She noted that her staff will also be at the event to answer questions and explain state-sponsored programs and resources for youth.
