Free childbirth courses offered by Delco health department

Expecting a child is a major life event. It isn’t simply about preparing a crib and buying adorable clothes. It’s about preparing your life for a major change. Soon, your entire world will be different, and making room in your home, your heart, and your life is key to welcoming that new life.

Delaware County Health Department aims to help new parents prepare for these changes, especially focusing on helping new mothers understand what may come in childbirth. Courses are offered at no cost to new parents. The free sessions are “designed to help you feel informed, confident, and prepared for your birth experience,” said a post from the DCHD on social media.

“These partner-friendly sessions cover your options for labor, delivery, and early parenthood – because knowledge is power,” said the post.

The classes are offered each Friday from noon to 1:30 p.m. with multiple dates available from January through April. To register for the course, call 484-276-2100.

“You deserve to feel ready,” said the DCHD post.

Courses in the coming series will be held on Feb. 13 and 20, as well as March 6 and 20, and April 3 and 17.
