Lansdowne’s Park Cleanup Days require assistance of area volunteers

Nature provides so much beauty, a space for relaxation, and of course crucial vegetation to keep our air clean. No better place exemplifies these features than the area’s parks. Lansdowne Borough is lucky enough to boast several.

However, parks cannot keep themselves clean all on their own. Instead, the dedication of volunteers is required to ensure they remain free from debris, safe, and accessible to all. The Lansdowne Borough has scheduled Park Cleanup dates throughout the year. Coming up on Feb. 7, the team will focus on Gateway Slope Park.

The park, a newly installed feature in the borough, is a connecting trail that joins Hoffman Park. There, guests can enjoy a welcoming sign, numerous garden beds, and a “beautifully mulched berm,” according to the borough’s website.

Cleanup Days are scheduled throughout the year. March will focus on Reservoir Park. Each cleanup will take place from 10 a.m. to noon. The borough provides all cleaning supplies.

Volunteers are asked to wear appropriate footwear when cleaning up the parks.

“This is our chance to maintain and beautify our parks,” said the borough’s flyer. For more information, contact the borough at 610-623-7300 or visit the site here.
