Upper Darby Pet Expo to offer vaccinations, microchipping, petting zoo

Pet owners in Upper Darby, rejoice: An event next month will offer a chance to get your furry friends up to date on a variety of crucial vaccinations.

At the Upper Darby Township 2026 Pet Expo on April 25, a limited number of free rabies vaccinations will be available to dog and cat owners who are township residents. Under Pennsylvania law, all dogs and non-feral cats who are older than 3 months must be vaccinated against rabies.

Staff from All Pets Veterinary Hospital of Drexel Hill will be on hand to administer the rabies vaccines, which are offered for a $20 fee to non-township residents. Distemper vaccines will also be available for $25 for cats and dogs, and Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccines can be administered to dogs for $30. All shots will be given in an enclosed space.

Microchipping will be available for cats and dogs, a $50 service that includes lifetime registration. Advance registration is required for all vaccinations and/or microchips.

A petting zoo, dog licenses, pet resources and adoption information will also be available at the expo, which takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Scullion Recreation Area (located at the intersection of Gramercy and Whitehall drives in Clifton Heights). Because the event is outdoors, organizers set a rain date of April 26.

To keep pets and humans safe, cats need to be in a secured carrier, and all carriers, collars and leases must be secure and escape-proof.
