Pedestrian killed in late night hit‑and‑run crash, according to authorities

Authorities are searching for a driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash late Thursday night in Chester Heights Borough, according to authorities. 

According to the Pennsylvania State Police, troopers from the PSP Media Station responded around 11:45 p.m. on March 6 to the area of Baltimore Pike and Red Roof Drive for a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian.

When troopers arrived, they found the victim, identified as Steven Hulsey, unconscious in the northbound travel lanes of Baltimore Pike. Emergency personnel from Rocky Run EMS attempted lifesaving measures at the scene before transporting Hulsey to Riddle Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

State police said the striking vehicle, described as a light-colored SUV or crossover, fled the scene traveling northbound on Baltimore Pike before troopers arrived.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information about the vehicle involved is asked to contact the Pennsylvania State Police Media Station at 484-840-1000.
