Millbourne Borough seeks new Parking Enforcement Officer

The holidays are a difficult time to be out of work. If you’ve been searching high and low for your next opportunity, you may be in luck. The Millbourne Borough is seeking a Parking Enforcement Officer.

The borough’s currently open position of Parking Enforcement Officer is one that is responsible for patrols of assigned areas, searching for parking violations. That officer would also be issuing citations, preparing and maintaining records and reports, and providing basic information and assistance to the public.

The role of officer may also be asked to perform traffic control duties, respond to complaints or incidents, and perform other related tasks, the job posting said on the borough’s website. At times, the officer may also have to testify in Magisterial District Court, or the Court of Common Pleas of Delaware County related to various citations issued. The Parking Enforcement Officer will report directly to the Borough Manager.

In order to qualify for the role, applicants must be able to:

  • Pass a criminal background check
  • Write clearly and legibly 
  • Withstand long periods of walking or standing outdoors
  • Withstand varying weather conditions including exposure to heat and cold
  • Effectively and courteously communicate with residents, business owners, and officials
  • Provide dependable, self-motivated work on one’s own
  • Wear a uniform and maintain a neat, professional appearance
  • Be open to other jobs in the Borough or Borough Office
  • Lift up to 25 pounds
