Delco Health Dept. to help former Crozer patients access medical records

Former patients of the Crozer-Chester Medical Center who are still struggling to access their medical records after the hospital’s closure have two upcoming opportunities to receive help.

As part of its ongoing “Navigating Our Health System” events, the Delaware County Health Department will provide aid to former Crozer patients on April 8 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Delaware County Wellness Center in Yeadon.

No registration is required, but those who want to attend the events should bring their identification and a cell phone. Anyone with questions is asked to call 484-276-2100.

Crozer-Chester Medical Center closed last May following the bankruptcy filing of its then-owner, Prospect Medical Holdings. Chariot Equities, in partnership with Allaire Health Services, acquired the 64-acre Crozer campus for $10 in January and said it hopes to eventually open a “right-sized” hospital and emergency department on the site.

In addition to Crozer, Prospect-owned Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park closed last May, and Prospect shuttered Springfield Hospital in 2022. According to news reports, local ambulance company owner Todd Strine and his partners recently bought those hospitals for $1 million each and are aiming to restore health care operations there.
