Man accused of trying to lure girl into truck in Upper Darby

A Philadelphia man is facing charges related to an incident in which he allegedly tried to lure a 13-year-old girl into his truck in Upper Darby.

Police reportedly said Dwayne Austin followed the girl on the 8200 block of West Chester Pike on Dec. 29 and tried to get her to enter his vehicle. The girl was able to reach a nearby business where an adult confronted Austin, who fled the scene but was later arrested.

Austin was charged with stalking and luring a child into a motor vehicle and posted 10% of his $40,000 bail on Dec. 30, according to news reports. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 9, and Upper Darby Police are asking the public to report any information about similar incidents involving a white Dodge Ram truck.
