One of Philly’s ‘Most Wanted’ captured in Lansdowne last week

The U.S. Marshals Service announced last week the arrest of one of Philadelphia’s “Most Wanted” suspects with the capture of Tyvine Jones in Lansdowne.

Jones, 25, was taken into custody without incident at the Stratford Court Apartments after members of the Marshals Fugitive Task Force converged on the Lansdowne Avenue complex.

“Tyvine Jones was one of Philadelphia’s ‘Most Wanted’ for his role in the murder of three individuals between 2020 and 2022,” said Eric Gartner, U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, in a release announcing the arrest. “Together with our Philadelphia PD and other partners, our commitment to the citizens of Philadelphia remains steadfast: The relentless pursuit of violent fugitives such as Tyvine Jones, whose unrestrained existence serves only to diminish our great city.”

Jones is a member and alleged hitman for the city’s Blumberg gang. He is charged with fatal shootings in 2020 and 2022 involving victims who were 16, 20 and 23 years old.

The first was in August 2020 in the 2200 block of West Diamond Street; the second was in May 2022 in the 1600 block of Erie Avenue; and the third was in September 2022 in the 1600 block of Creston Street.

Gartner said Marshals received a tip that Jones was hanging out in Delaware County and responded to the Stratford Court Apartments about 8:30 a.m. with Pennsylvania State Attorney General agents and Philadelphia homicide detectives.

Jones was found inside a suspected apartment and surrendered to authorities before being transported to the Philadelphia Homicide Detective Division for processing.

Jones is charged with multiple charges, including murder, conspiracy, aggravated assault with attempt to cause injury with extreme indifference, firearms not to be carried without a license, and related charges. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 29 at 9 a.m. before Magisterial District Judge Francis W. McCloskey Jr.
