UDPD reminds vehicle owners to lock up
Recent break-ins spur reminders for area residents

In what the department called a “Public Safety Alert and Reminder,” the Upper Darby Police are reminding area residents to take a moment to lock your doors to keep vehicles safer.
“We’ve seen an increase in vehicle break-ins over the past week,” the department posted on Facebook. Many of the breaking-ins are happening overnight, police said.
“They are being discovered in the morning,” said the department. “Please protect your property.”
Police said that vehicle safety basics include:
- Lock your car doors ALWAYS
- Do not leave valuables in plain view
- Store items in your trunk if left in your vehicle
- Ensure property lights (front and rear) are working
