Lansdowne puts growing food scene on display with its first Restaurant Week

Special offerings, special prices and even dinner with a show are all on the menu in Lansdowne from March 23 to 29 as part of the borough’s first Restaurant Week.

“Lansdowne’s food scene has grown into something pretty incredible — diverse, welcoming and full of first-class restaurants,” Mayor Magda Byrne told Fideri News Network. “I’m thrilled we’re launching our first Restaurant Week to really showcase all of it. There’s truly something for everyone here, and I hope people come out to experience everything our local spots have to offer.”

For those looking for a prix fixe experience, Sophusion Fine Dining is offering a three-course experience for $49.99 that includes an appetizer, entrée and dessert. The same course lineup — for the same price — is also available at Backstage Tap and Grille and Blue South.

Carib Grill, known for its Jamaican and Caribbean fare, is offering a special in which diners can enjoy any three entrees of their choice for $45, while Crisp Chik’N is offering a two-for-one combo meal (sandwich, side and drink) for $29.99.

Music lovers may want to head to Jamey’s House of Music on March 26, as the venue/restaurant is offering a $50 walk-in special dinner completed by an 8 p.m. performance by AC STEEL AND THE PERPETRATORS. For hungry families, Travers Food Market is whipping up Italian family meal specials for $39.99, consisting of spaghetti and meatballs, a garden salad and garlic bread.

Finally, Kia’s Cakes Café is baking up dessert sample boxes to end any meal with something sweet. For $19.99, customers can receive a selection of the café’s most popular baked goods (also available in a nut-free version) or preorder a vegan or gluten-free box.

“This is more than about food, it’s about building something new for our community, creating opportunities for our local businesses to shine, and inviting everyone to experience the flavor, culture and creativity that is Lansdowne,” said Tiara Orange, president of the Lansdowne Business and Professional Association. “This Is just the beginning of a lasting tradition.”

Orange noted that Lansdowne is also planning a summer edition of Restaurant Week, slated for Aug. 16 to 22.
