Homeless man arrested for ‘pleasuring himself’ near apartment window, busy road in Delco

A homeless man was arrested in Delaware County for allegedly “pleasuring himself” in view of not only two residents’ living room window, but feet away from Lansdowne Avenue.
According to an affidavit of probable cause by the Yeadon Borough Police Department, police responded to the area of the 500 block of South Lansdowne Avenue on April 11 around 9:03 a.m. for the report of a man “exposing himself in the bushes.” Police said they reported to the Grace Court Apartments and obtained from witnesses a description of a black male, wearing grey sweatpants and sweatshirt, had been seen by residents of the complex exposing himself.
Two witnesses said they were sitting in their own living room, with windows that face South Lansdowne Avenue, when they saw the man in grey sweatpants and shirt, along with red shoes, “pleasuring himself in the bushes.” Both men said they “did observe the man’s genitalia,” police said.
According to police the same man was seen in front of the apartment complex, when police had arrived. The man was seen pleasuring himself in a location approximately 20 feet from the witnesses’ living room window and 15 feet from South Lansdowne Avenue, a road police described as “heavily trafficked.”
Freedom Cidiob Maduke, 27, listed as “homeless” by police, was taken into custody by the responding officers. After being read his Miranda rights, Maduke refused to speak to police. When placed in a holding cell, he was “advised that he was arrested for pleasuring himself,” in the bushes, and police said Maduke responded “oh yeah.”
Maduke is facing charges of indecent exposure and open lewdness. He is being held in Delaware County jail, unable to post a $5,000 monetary bail. Maduke is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on April 21 at 10 a.m. before Magisterial District Judge W. Keith Williams II.
