Upper Darby celebrates 25-year career fireman

This Easter was a special celebration far beyond any furry rabbits or decorative baskets. After a shared breakfast with families, the Upper Darby Professional Fire Fighters celebrated one of their own for his years of service. The friends and families of the departments of Truck 37/C recognized Capt. Joseph Epright on 25 years of service.

The career serviceman was presented with a plaque for giving his all from April 3, 2001 to April 3, 2026. But truth be told, he’d given back to his community for far longer.

“Captain Epright has served for over 33 years, beginning with his time as a volunteer firefighter at Cardington Stonehurst Fire Company,” said a department post to social media. “The department is lucky to have such an experienced leader, who continues to embrace the job with the same enthusiasm and aggressiveness he’s had for over three decades.”

Congratulations to Captain Epright, who celebrated surrounded by family.
